Gujarat High Court Civil Manual (subordinate court practice), 1960
After the examination of witnesses has begun, adjournments, if found necessary, should be from day to day or for very short intervals. Otherwise, the Court might have to determine cases on the evidence and impressions, which have been partially forgotten. If the disposal of a suit is to be satisfactory, it must be on a consideration of evidence which is as fresh in the mind of the Judge as may be possible.
