Where a witness gives evidence in a language not understood by the Court, the presiding Judge is authorised to employ an interpreter and pay him any reasonable sum for his services not exceeding ten rupees per diem, the cost being borne by the party calling the witness in the first instance and being charged as costs in the suit.
