Where the service is effected by affixing a copy of the summons, the Court has to make enquiry under rule 19 of Order V, and when the summons is not duly served the above rule provides that the Court should order such service as it thinks fit. When the summons has been duly served it is incumbent on the Court to record a distinct declaration to that effect and to file it with the papers. This rule applies even in case of summonses received from other Courts for service.
