Gujarat Co-operative Societies Act, 1961
(1) Save as otherwise provided. Every election shall be held on such date or dates as the Collector may fix, and shall be conducted under his control by such Returning officer and other Officers, as may be appointed by the Collector in this behalf. (2) In all cases, where a society has to send a nominee as a member of the committee of the specified society, the election of such nominee shall be conducted under the control of the Collector of the District in which the registered office if the society sending the nominee is situated. (3) The voting at every election shall be by secret ballot.
