Gujarat Co-operative Societies Act, 1961
The State Government may, by general or special order, to be published in the Official Gazette, Exempt any society or class of societies form any of the provisions of this Act, or may direct that such provisions shall apply to such society or class of societies with such modifications not affecting the substance thereof as may be specified in the order : Provided that, no order to the prejudice of any society shall be passed, without an opportunity being given to such society to represent its case. [ Provided further that the aforesaid provision shall apply to societies in the co-operative credit structure subject to the guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India.]
