GLRC 122 — Construction and repair of boundary marks of survey numbers and villages.

Statutory text

It shall be lawful for any survey officer, authorised by a Superintendent of Survey or a Superintending Land Officer, to [specify or cause to be constructed, laid out, maintained or repaired ] boundary marks of villages of survey numbers [ or sub-divisions of survey numbers ] whether cultivated or uncultivated, and to assess all charges incurred thereby on the holders or others having an interest therein.

Such officer may require landholders to construct, [ lay out, maintain] or repair their boundary-marks, by a notification which shall be posted in the chawdi or other public place in the village, to which the lands under survey belong directing the holders of survey numbers [or sub-divisions] to construct, [lay out, maintain] or repair, within a specified time, the boundary-marks of their respective survey numbers [or sub-divisions] and on their failure to comply with the requisition so made, the survey officer shall then construct, [lay out] or repair them and assess all charges incurred thereby as hereinbefore provided.
