GLRC 140 — Removal of crop which has been sold, etc., may be prevented until revenue paid.

Statutory text

When the crop of any land or any portion of the same is sold, mortgaged or otherwise disposed of, whether by order of a Civil Court or other public authority or by private agreement, the Collector may prevent its being removed from the land until the demands for the current year in respect of the said land have been paid, whether the date fixed for payment of the same under the provisions hereinafter contained, has yet arrived or not.

But in no case shall a crop or any portion of the same, which has been sold, mortgaged or otherwise disposed of, be detained on account of more than the demands of the year in which the detention is made.
