GLRC 142 — Collector's orders under last section how to be made known.

The Collector's orders under either clause (a) or clause (b) of the last preceding section may be issued generally to all the holders of land paying revenue to '[State] Government' is in a village or to individual holders merely.

If the order be general, it shall be make known by public proclamation to be made by beat of drum in the village and by affixing a copy of the order in the chowdi or some other public building in the village. If it be to individual holders, a notice thereof shall be served on each holder concerned.

Any person who shall disobey any such order after the same has been so proclaimed, or a notice thereof has been served upon him or, who shall within the meaning of the Indian Penal Code, abet the disobedience of any such order, shall be liable, on conviction after a summary inquiry by the Collector, to a fine not exceeding double the amount of the land revenue due on the land to which the crop belongs in respect of which the offence is committed.
