GMA 178 — Fixing of lamps, brackets, etc., to houses

Statutory text

The chief officer may erect or fix to the outside of any building brackets for lamps to be lighted with oil or gas; or subject to the provisions of the Indian Electricity Act, 1910, for lamps to be lighted with electricity or otherwise or subject to the provisions of the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885, for telegraph wires or telephone wires, or wires for the conduct of electricity or locomotive purposes; or such pipes as he may deem necessary for the proper ventilation of sewers and water-works; such brackets and pipes shall be erected so as not to occasion any inconvenience or nuisance to the occupants of the said building or of any others in the neighbourhood, or to the public.
