Gujarat Municipalities Act, 1963
The chief officer may by written notice require the owner or occupier of any land so to trim or prune the hedges thereof bordering any public street that the said hedges may not exceed the height of four feet from the level of the street, and width of four feet; and to cut down, lop, or trim all trees or shrubs which in any way overhang, endanger or obstruct, or which such officer deems, likely to overhang, endanger or obstruct any public street or to cause damage thereto, or which so overhang any public tank, well or other provision for water-supply as to pollute, or be likely to pollute, the water thereof. (6) Power for promotion of public health, safety and convenience.
