Gujarat Municipalities Act, 1963
It shall be lawful for the president, vice-president, chief officer or any officer authorised by the chief officer for such purpose, to enter for any purpose of this Act, between sunrise and sunset, with such assistants as he may deem necessary, into and upon any building or land: Provided that except when herein otherwise provided, no building or land which may be occupied at the time shall be entered unless with the consent of the occupier thereof, without twenty-four hours’ written notice thereof having been given to the said occupier : Provided also that in the case of buildings used as human dwellings, due regard shall be paid to the social and religious customs of the occupiers.
