Gujarat Municipalities Act, 1963
A municipality may, at its discretion, make rules, not inconsistent with this Act and the rules or orders made by State Government under this Act, determining the conditions under which gratuities or compassionate allowances may be paid to the surviving relatives of its officers and servants or any of them who die during service and the amount of such gratuities or compassionate allowances: Provided that no rule or alteration or rescission of a rule made under this section shall have effect unless and until it has been approved by the State Government. 273.
