Gujarat Money-Lenders Act, 2011
Whoever fails to comply with, or acts in contravention of, any of the provisions of this Act shall, on conviction, if no specific penalty is provided for such offence in this Act, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year and with fine which may extend to ten thousand rupees: Provided that in absence of the special and an adequate reason to the contrary to be mentioned in the judgments of the court- (i) for the first offence, such imprisonment shall not be less than one month and such fine shall not be less than two thousand rupees; (ii) for the second and subsequent offences, such imprisonment shall not be less than two months and such fine shall not be less than five thousand rupees.
