GPA 217 — The District Development Officer's power to direct irrecoverable sums to be written off.

Statutory text

The District Development Officer may direct any sum certified by a panchayat as recoverable as an arrear of land revenue to be written off, if in his opinion the sum is irrecoverable:

Provided that no sum exceeding five hundred rupees shall be written off except with the previous sanction of the State Government.
