Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993
The meeting of a village panchayat shall be held at such intervals as my be prescribed: Provided that the Sarpanch for any specified reason may, and upon the written request of not less than one third of the members shall call a meeting of the panchayat at any other time: 1[ Provided further that in case where such meeting is not called by the Sarpanch within a period of one month from the date of receipt of such written request, it shall be competent for the Taluka Development Officer to call such meeting on such date as may be specified by him.]
