Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993
(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, it shall be lawful for a village panchayat to invite at its meeting not more than two persons [who are not related to any of the members or the Sarpanch, as the case may be, of the village panchayat.] [Explanation.— For the purposes of this sub-section, the parents, brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, husband, wife, son, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law shall be deemed to be related to a member or the Sarpanch, as the case may be, of the village panchayat.] (2) An invitee at a meeting of the panchayat shall have the right to speak or otherwise take part in the proceeding of the meeting but shall not be entitled to vote.
