GPOL 72 — When Police officer may arrest without warrant.

Statutory text

Any Police officer may, without any order from a Magistrate and without a warrant, arrest—

(1) any person who has been concerned in an offence punishable under section 121 or against whom a reasonable complaint has been made or credible information has been received or a reasonable suspicion exists, of his having been concerned in such offence;

(2) any person who contravences a rule or order under clause (x) of sub-section (1) of section 33 or an order or an order or notification under section 36, 37, 56 2[57 or 63AA];

1[(2A) any person who contravenes any order made under sub-section (1) of section 63 A;]

(3) any person who commits an offence punishable under section 122 or section 136.
