Gujarat Police Act, 1951
(1) In any case not covered by section 83 or 84 the Commissioner or the Magistrate concerned, as the case may be, shall issue a proclamation specifying the articles of which such property consists and requiring any person who may have a claim thereto [to appear before himself or some other officer whom he appoints in this behalf within three months from the date of such proclamation and establish his claim within a period not exceeding three months after such appearance : Provided that the Commissioner, the Magistrate or the concerned Officer, may, in any appropriate case, for reasons to be recorded in writing, extend the said period of three months for establishment of the claim by such further period and subject to such conditions as he may deem fit.] (2) If the property, or any part thereof, is subject to speedy and natural decay, or consists or live-stock, or if the property appears to be of less value that [fifty rupees], it may be forth with sold by auction under the orders of the Commissioner or the Magistrate concerned, as the case may be and the net proceeds of such sale, shall be dealt with in the same manner as is hereinafter provided for the disposal of the said property.
