(1) The Sessions Courts must be kept open during the annual vacation for six weeks of the District Court. The Sessions Judges, Additional Sessions Judges and Assistant Sessions Judges may, however, be permitted by the High Court to absent themselves from their respective districts during the vacation provided the arrangement is made for the disposal of all criminal work received before and pending at the commencement of the vacation. No vacation concession should be availed of by them without fulfilling this condition. (2) (a) The Sessions Judge, Ahmedabad City (Principal Judge) may be permitted by the High Court to absent himself from the Court during the vacation provided the arrangement is made for the disposal of all the Criminal work received before and pending at the commencement of the vacation. No vacation concession should be availed of by him without fulfilling this condition. (b) Sufficient number of Additional Sessions Judges, Ahmedabad City, may be prevented by the Sessions Judge, from enjoying the vacation to enable to dispose of criminal work received before and pending at the commencement of the vacation. (3) All the criminal work received before the vacation and pending at the beginning of the vacation, should be disposed of during the vacation.
