Attention of Judges is drawn to section 354 (3) which in particular makes it obligatory on the courts that when the conviction is for an offence punishable with death or in the alternative for the imprisonment for life or imprisonment for a term exceeding one year, the Judge should record reasons for the sentence awarded.
