Gujarat High Court Criminal Manual (subordinate court practice), 1977
(1) In regard to the muddamal and other valuable properties lying in the custody of criminal Courts, other than the Courts of the Metropolitan Magistrates, the presiding magistrate, should arrange to lodge, for safe custody in the Treasury or Sub-Treasury, a box or boxes containing such property of which he holds charge. (2) In the Courts of the Metropolitan Magistrates the valuable properties, including valuable documents, taken charge of by the Metropolitan Magistrate or exhibited in Court, the Sheristedar of that Court shall, as soon as may be on the same day, personally lodge them in custody in the Court safe and have an entry made about them in the Valuable Muddamal Register. (3) Any specially valuable property and boxes containing cash and valuables, which it is considered would not sufficiently be protected, if left in the Court safe or strong room, when the Court is closed, should be deposited by the Magistrate concerned in the Treasury or Sub-treasury for safe custody
