Statutory text

The application to the High Court in its Civil, Criminal or Writ Jurisdiction, to be supported by affidavit or statement on solemn affirmation or an affidavit to be used before any court under the Code may be sworn or affirmed before the Registrar, Clerk of the Court, Deputy Registrar, Nazir, Sheristedar Senior Clerk or any other Clerk of the Court, as the case may be. Duly empowered under section 39, Criminal Procedure Code, 1898, or appointed as Commissioner of oaths and empowered under section 297, Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, by the Court of session or the High Court, as the case may be. Such Officer shall on application, take such affidavit or statement on solemn affirmation and on payment, by the affixed stamp of the prescribed fees.
