The powers of the revision of the Sessions Judges are enlarged under the relevant provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 and they have practically the powers of the Court of Appeal under the provisions of sections 389, 390, 391 and 401, as provided under section 401, Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. The Sessions Judge may also call for the record of the Executive Magistrates as provided under section 397, Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. The Sessions Judge has to dispose of them as provided under the Code of Criminal Procedure.
