Gujarat High Court Criminal Manual (subordinate court practice), 1977
The Senior Clerk in the Court of the Judicial Magistrate, First Class, the Sheristodar in the Court of the Metropolitan Magistrate, the Clerk of the Court in the Court of the Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate, First Class and the Head Clerk or the Assistant Registrar in the Court of the Session, shall before the case is sent to the record room verify that the record is properly classified and indexed and that it contains all papers shown in the index. He shall further verify that all the Court-fees stamps are duly punched according to rules and he shall append a certificate to that effect.
