The proceeding sheet (Roznama) in Form No. 41 be kept in English or in Gujarati in Sessions Cases and in special cases in the Court of Session and in Gujarati in other Criminal Courts in all inquiries, trials and other proceedings. It is meant only as a guide and not intended to be exhaustive. The object of the Roznama is to show in concise form the proceedings taken in each case with the date of each proceeding. It is to be a faithful history of the case and correct list and description of the exhibits; and at the same time it should be so drawn up as to show all the details of the case and yet be as concise as possible. It is not to include a record of ministerial acts, such as receipt of bhatta or process fees, the preparation of summonses and the like.
