Motor Vehicles Act, 1988

Statutory text

If any licence to act as a conductor of a stage carriage (by whatever name called ) has been issued in any State and is effective immediately before the commencement of this Act, it shall continue to be effective, notwithstanding such commencement, for the period for which it would have been effective, if this Act had not been passed, and every such licence shall be deemed to be a licence issued under this Chaper as if this Chapter had been in force on the date on which that licence was granted.
Corresponding Law.- Section 37 corresponds to section 21-I of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1939.
Objects and Reasons.- Clause 37 saves any licence to act as a conductor of a stage carriage issued prior to the commencement of this Act.
